A possible reason why the GB are becoming more demanding as things worsen
by Listener inbasically because they feel they are not being blessed.. this is not to say that all gb members feel this way.
the power hungry ones love getting the whip out.
the other members incorrectly look to the old testament for answers.. they are telling the sheep to be faithful, dedicated, self sacrificing, serving to the fullest, whole hearted and obedient.

Here is another great link for Bible research. I'm progressing well myself as well as I asked to be officially DA'ed earlier last week. Remember JW's do not have the monopoly on God, his Son nor the Bible.
Jesus was all about freedom and non conformity, this is what I find the most appealing about God's dear son.
Sorry about your friend at the hall, JW's excel at situations like these. All about fitting in and conforming to their rules.

he would order as many books he could from the hall's library; the green insight books, bound volumes of past watchowers and awake magazines, interlinear greek scriptures, reasoning from the scritpures, the list goes on.
in those days you had to go to his special room he called his office if you wanted to find him, usually sitting at his desk with his nose in the wt books and writing stuff down on paper.

I went through a suicidal depression once, believe me you get to a point where you think no one can help you. Only the very best trained professionals are equipped to intervene. That and being indoctrinated in a cult makes things exponentially worst as you don't want to bring reproach to the Borg. Poor Jimmy was abandoned by his parents and supposed brothers. three guys are sitting around, each drinking a large glass of beer.........a publisher, a pioneer and a bethelite.......just then, a fly lands in all three of their glasses of beer........the publisher....pushes the glass away and says....."i can't drink this now"...........the pioneer looks over, and picks the fly out of the beer and keeps on drinking............the bethelite.........picks up the fly by its wings and holds its head over the glass and says "spit it out......spit it out!

When I first met his born in parents I became friends with the husband who 'encouraged' me to pursue the 'truth' as I had always known about it. He commented on how weird I was for not hitting the strip clubs, partying non stop nor having any fast money making schemes. Total imbecile he turned out to be. -

Macy, I know how you feel. The little kid I'm talking about was abused by his babysitter JW. He had ADHD so this sent him for a loop, he could never really contain himself after that episode. I remember him well, my ears are still ringing, boy what a handful ! His parents more or less abandoned him at 18 and he was left to fend for himself from what I can tell. Not good, and we all know the outcome.
Parents are still in the 'truth' and doing some 'pioneering' while waiting it out for their inheritance. Remarried both sides, actually the mom is on her third marriage. Can you say Gold Digger ? What a story you can't make this stuff up. Buy hey all is well in the 'truth'
